How much should I take with me?

This really depends on you, as a person travelling alone, if you decide to go with your partner or in a small group

We can advise you, but not everybody has the same ideas or the same preferences. You may have planned to stay 2 days in one place and find that you would like to stay longer. This is possible if you have a flexible itinerary.

It's very important that you take into account the fact that distances in India are calculated by hours rather than kilometres, due to the type of route, season and the state of the roads in India. Calculating distances in India isn't the same as for Europe. You should concentrate on relatively comfortable routes, which are possible to complete. It's a good idea not to aim for exhaustive routes, which you may not be able to finish.
Another important point for your journey is the climate, which at certain times of the
year can be quite hard. It also depends on which route, as in India you can visit the desert, the jungle, grasslands, the Himalayas. The climate and the route are
importantpoints in any journey
